Welcome Laura Gibson

The AISOCC welcomes Laura Gibson as new consulting member.

Laura is a board certified Crime Scene Investigator with the Sunrise Police Department. She is specialized in the collection, preservation, documentation, and analysis of crime scenes and associated evidence. Before coming to the Sunrise PD, Laura was a Forensic Anthropology Graduate Research/Teaching Assistant at the Florida Gulf Coast University. She spearheaded the development of the Heather Walsh-Haney Non-Human Skeletal Collection.

She was previously employed at the Florida Gulf Coast University as a Research Analyst at the Weapons and Equipment Research Institute, and as a Graduation Research/Teaching Assistant.

Laura had served on the Florida Emergency Mortuary Operational Response System (FEMORS) team since 2008. She is an active member of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences, the International Association for Identification, and the Florida Division of the International Association of Identification.
